With the New Year’s arrival on January.1.2007, Bulgaria and Romania joined EU. Now the EU member states have increased into 27 countries. As EU is playing more and more important part in the world economy, the influence of Europartenariat has been also enlarged around the world.

Being the National Counsellor of Europartenariat since 1998, Macro Euro-China Entrepreneurs Club has been functioning as a “bridge” for connecting European and Chinese small and middle-sized enterprises and facilitating their cooperation.

In the past 10 years, we have organized thousands of Chinese enterprises attend 6 times of Europartenariat and over 100 matchmakings in different European cities. Besides, we cooperated with our European partners and organized 100 European delegations to visit Chinese industrial cities.

Through the bilateral communication, we built up a cooperation platform for the entrepreneurs of both sides and helped them reaching more than 100 cooperative intents.

In 2001 and 2002 we successfully organized Euro-China business meeting financed by EU and the government of Macau. In this year, we will organize Euro-China business meeting 2007 in the most prosperous area of China—Shanghai Economic Region. There will be hundreds of enterprises form several EU states and they will participate in the grand event. They will meet 300 Chinese companies and discuss about the business cooperation on their concerned sectors.

Here I want to thank the government of the host city Shangyu for supporting the event financially, so that we could have the opportunity to gather together in this beautiful city.

Besides, I must thank Asia-Invest. Through this project, so many chambers and non-governmental organizations have united together and been able to organize various kinds of activities for stimulating the SMEs cooperation in Europe and China. Although Asia-Invest program is modified according the change of world economy, its network is still the most important and significant for business cooperation between Europe and China..
